Court Review- Louis Street Field & Park

Located in the Signac area of Little Fall, NJ the park serves as a memorial to Troop 14. Along with its single full court it also has a baseball field, swings, and a memorial plaque and seating area. Situated in a quiet suburban setting surrounded by single family homes the court is within an earshot of someone's backyard. It is located just off of main street and is minutes from the Willowbrook Plaza in Wayne. It is a standard sized full court with grass broder. Unfortunately while conveniently located the court is in need of some TLC. Rims are chain rims which are not common but the nets are rusted and beginning to fall apart. The court itself has no markers for three point lines, free throws, or anything for that matter. The suface of the court also suffers from cracking and many uneven playing areas. For example the right side of the court dips making a shot from deep in the corner seem like you're shooting on a 10 1/2' rim (make sure you put some arch on that J!) The good news is the rims are in relatively good shape and are even and the backboard is also intact for the most part. Overall I would give this park a 2 out of 5 stars though. It certainly could use a refresh as Little Falls lacks a go to destination for basketball where most residents would rather travel to the well maintained Mountainside Park in Montclair or the moderately better Cedar Grove Park down Little Falls Road.
